Nafs Navigator and Weight Loss Specialist
I'm Anish, a Muslim revert whose life journey has been profoundly shaped by a rich tapestry of Chinese and Indian heritage. Growing up in a vibrant multi-faith household, I encountered diverse cultural insights, which enriched my understanding of the world. During my university years, amid prevalent anti-Islam sentiments, I was introduced to Islam. Through Allah's grace, I embraced the faith in 2013, embarking on a transformative path of faith and wellness.
Physical health was emphasized early in my upbringing, backed by my experiences as a professional athlete. From wielding a golf club at age two and competing in golf and hockey to captaining cricket teams at the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and Raffles Junior College, sports have laid the foundation of my disciplined lifestyle. Representing Singapore's National Men's Cricket team from the age of 14 and leading them to historic victories, including a gold and silver at the SEA Games, are some of my proudest milestones. While pursuing my degree in Finance at Durham University, I made history as the first Singapore-born cricketer to play first-class cricket in the UK, extending my professional playing career in both the UK and Australia until 2020.
Transitioning from a cricket career to weight loss coaching for Muslims, I faced personal challenges in maintaining weight and energy levels. Overwhelmed by conflicting online health advice, I turned to the enduring principles of the Quran and Sunnah for clarity. Delving into the life and habits of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), I crafted a method for healthy living that is both simple and sustainable, which align perfectly with Islamic teachings.
My holistic approach to weight loss acknowledges the duality of our existence as Muslims — serving both physical and spiritual aspects. As Head Coach, I guide clients to navigate their nafs and balance these aspects:
Outer World: I focus on the four pillars — Nutrition, Sleep, Exercise, and Stress Management — to ensure sustainable weight loss and lifelong healthy habits.
Inner World: For the inner world, we need to pay attention to our Nafs which are our base desires placed in us by Allah Swt. There are typically 2 desires that are linked to weight loss and weight gain. These are the desires to eat and rest. I help individuals understand and manage their desires to foster sustainable lifestyle changes.
Outside of coaching, I'm a devoted husband and father, striving to balance family life with wellness — a challenge many fathers can relate to. I'm passionate about sharing my insights and embarking on this journey with others, helping them integrate health into family routines seamlessly.

As the Head Fitness Specialist for the Simplyfit Muslim Weight Loss Program, Nafiis leads the charge in exercise coaching, expertly crafting a 4-phase training program that caters to the specific needs and lifestyles of busy Muslim men.

His own journey of losing 16 kg speaks to his deep personal insight into the challenges of weight loss, allowing him to empathize with and motivate his clients authentically.
Throughout his career, Nafiis has guided more than 150 clients to reach their weight loss goals, including the remarkable achievement of helping a client reduce their weight by 33 kg. His unwavering commitment to continuously researching and applying the most effective training techniques sets him apart as a standout expert in the field.
